When Jo says, “I’m just a simple country girl from Winchester Virginia”, don’t believe her! Ok…she may hail from one of the prettiest parts of our nation-The Shenandoah Valley. She may have grown up playing in the creek and eating vegetables fresh from the garden. But Jo is far from being “simple”! Growing up, Jo dreamed of being a mom and, once she had Emily, her dream came true! Now, as the devoted mom of this college bound sweetie, she gets to spend time attending Emily’s school and sporting events.

Jo spent two years studying to become an office administrator in community college and at Liberty University, both located in Virginia. Once she left Virginia, she spent many years working as a receptionist at a chiropractor’s office in Pasadena, Texas, before finally settling in St. Petersburg. Once here, she again held a job as a receptionist, but this time in a plastic surgeon’s office. Jo met her very handy husband, Robin, here in St. Pete, but toted him off to Helen, GA to be married just because, “I love it there”, she says. After some time as a stay-at-home mom, she worked as a kindergarten aid at Northside Christian School.

Jo started scrapbooking with a direct sales company and found their style limiting. Her increasing interest brought her into Whim So Doodle to work on die cuts for a classroom project where she met Jill, who realized very quickly that Jo would make an excellent addition to the staff!

In the six years that Jo has been here, it has become evident that her cheerful demeanor and excellent organizational skills make her the perfect choice to be the Customer Service Specialist. She sets the bar high in providing the incomparable service our customers have come to value. Another discovery was that Jo has a charming style of scrapbooking that brings together both the classic and whimsical. This style has caught on in her popular, monthly Dry Embossing class and in the page kits and samples she creates for the store. Jo has also come to be known as “the girl with the great handwriting”. She is a self-taught calligrapher that uses her special talent to add beautiful touches to her paper crafting projects. One of the things Jo holds dear is her special bond with her family. She enjoys having her brother and sister close and traveling back to Virginia for family reunions. She takes pleasure in spending her free time taking walks on cool nights, relaxing on the beach, baking in her kitchen, listening to country music (don’t you dare interrupt a Kenny Chesney song!), watching her favorite reality show - Survivor - and attending Calvary Chapel. Jo also shares her faith at BSF (Bible Study Fellowship, Intl) at the First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg by attending and teaching the 2 year olds as a Children’s Leader. Jo rests strong in her faith and the plan that the Lord has for her future. Jeremiah 29:11-13
