Married in 1997 on the Winter Solstice Joe and Stacey both share the common bond of ‘hippie-dome’ with each of them being true Birkenstock-wearing vegetarians! After college Stacey went to work as a graphic designer creating advertising and developing web sites. She spent many years building her reputation and industry contacts but soon she felt that dealing with the pressures of business life was not how she wanted to live her days. Her decision to concentrate more on her personal art and do freelance work equaled a lot of free time on her hands.
This was the perfect opportunity for Stacey to pick up a new hobby and with photography one of her minors at college, scrapbooking was a natural choice. She purchased her first paper crafting items at a large chain store and began developing her own style of scrapbooking. Stacey was creating layouts and projects with an artist’s flair long before it became en vogue and a highly published genre.
Her style caught the eye of some magazine editors and a few of her layouts were published in scrapbooking publications. Stacey became an active member of a local internet scrapbooking group who met at a local scrapbooking store in Temple Terrace for crops and fun. This is where she met Jen, who both managed the store and was a member of the same internet group, and the two became friends quickly.
Their friendship turned into a working relationship when the owner of that same store decided to make Stacey part of the staff by having her teach classes and run the web operation. Many years and countless crop parties have passed and now you can find Stacey at The Doodle creating beautiful inspiration projects and album kits for the store as a member of our amazing Design Team.
In the past Stacey’s layout subjects were her two dogs, Enzo and Sachel, but these days two other kids have taken over her projects-Henry (AKA “The Bean”) and Nicholas. These two adorable trouble makers suffer greatly from major flash burn as Stacey just can’t seem to put the camera down! Now this stay-at-home-mom spends her time creating for The Doodle, hanging at the play yard at the mall, trying to finish the on-going, three year project of organizing her craft room, refueling with either a chocolate M&M Blizzard or a large cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee (“Is there any other?”, she wonders) and catching up on her sleep. Forget cleaning!
Stacey’s motto is: “If the shelves are dusty and the pots don’t shine, it’s because I have better things to do with my time.”
